quick gas tank question

quick gas tank question
ok newbie here. on the gas tank there is a extra hole besides for the pitcock. what goes there? oh its a 81 gs850. ive looked online and cant figure it out and no one else i know has one so?Tags: None

Is this what you're looking at?
In the above picture, the petcock is on the bottom. The fuel gauge sending unit (to the gas gauge) is on the top with the vent hose and connector cable.

I am going to assume that he is talking about the two connections on the petcock itself.
The larger fitting is for the fuel to go to the fitting between carbs 2 and 3.
The smaller fitting goes to the vacuum port on top of the outlet of carb 2. That is what turns on the gas when the engine is started.
