GS550ES Shock alternative
I have a 1986 GS550ES with a replacement WORKS shock. Minor oil leak at reservoir. Is there a good alternative? Thanks.Tags: None

Yeah, you've got a great replacement for what I believe is considered an undersprung stock unit.
Get it rebuilt and enjoy.

You might want to try the search function but I don't think anything is a direct bolt-on - the reservoir is often the sticking point.Ed

Ed - thanks. Searches yielded some reference to GSXR shocks but when you go to sights like WORKS you see that GSXR shocks are all diff lengthe depending on engine size.
The WORKS sight shows my shock as 13" eye to eye - same as SV650. I'd actually prefer a non reservoir shock - this will be an occasional rider showpiece kinda bike. I'll try a cheap take off SV shock and report back.
