    1982 gs750t and Dyna S

Just a qwik question; I know the Dyna ignition is the way to go but, everything I pull up shows compatability with everything BUT the 1982 GS750T. Was gonna' call Dyna or Denniskirk but figured it might be simpler to just ask here, you guys seem to know your stuff! btw, I am a new member to posting on here, although I have been reading this site for some time. GREAT COMPILATION OF WORK AND INFO!! I APPRECIATE EVERY WORD!!
    THANKS, rick in Ga.

Why do you want to replace the stock ignition? The factory electronic ignition is well done and durable, I wouldn't replace it with a Dyna S unless your factory ignition has failed and you don't want to scrounge for replacement parts.

First of all thank you for the qwik responses!I appreciate it. As far as why? I am customizing this bike into a bobber and after testing electronics, I have found that the ignitor is shot! and the overall wiring is badly weathered so, I figured my best route would be to just put a whole new ignition system in making for a more reliable bike and to eliminate future parts hunting and price gouging on parts that are becoming hard to find. Not to mention, after doing alot of reading in old posts everyones opinion is that once you have swapped to Dyna ignition and coils, exchanged the rectifier with Electrex (because of factory flaws to begin with, lol) I should end up with a jam up bike. This was a bike I picked up that had been yard deco, but the engine has turned over strong with good compression, should turn out to be a sweet ride for somebody when Im done.
Peace to you and yours, R.

Hey Chef? I hate to be bothersome on this but could you answer one more thing for me? When I look up the DYNA S Kit at denniskirk, it gives a couple different models of Dyna's and of course as I think I said, NO listing for the 1982 gs750T. I just got through chatting with a rep. from bikebandit.com and he's getting the same thing except he's showing it as basically a universal fit from 70something til 1981. Is this the case? a universal fitment or do I need to order a specific model from denniskirk? If so, which friggin one??lol I do appreciate your help with this and I hate to be a bother. BTW has anyone figured out just what the difference is between the gs750E and gs750T, or the difference from 81' to 82'?
peace to you and yours Rick

Dyna-S and the Coil relay mod will put you in a good state of health. Or get a replacement OEM ignitor but do the coil relay mod.
