Are twisted crankshafts a common issue?

the press fit got better on the 16v. models.
a twisted 16v. crank is very uncommon.

That's good to hear.

but.......
breaking the crank snout off at the main bearing behind the starter clutch gear does happen from time to time on the 80-82 1100 16v. engines.

What causes this ... and what could be done to prevent it?
Have these problems been addressed by Suzuki in the 1983 1100 16-valve engines?

I used an 80 GS1100 16 valve crank and beat the snot out of it. Put around 15K miles on it. It was true when removed.
If it was going to twist it should've with me on it. Three-hundred pounds, a big block and a heavy throttle hand. Even blew the top end twice.

I agree. If it was going to twist, it would have happened with that engine. Thanks!

Found the crank seal installed backwards on the 1000S engine I tore down last weekend. Didn't leak so maybe it's not such a big deal.
