Took the tank off - the fire ruined the right coil. Where can I get one?

Hey, took the tank off......Steve(the guy helping us) said the coil is ruined on the right side.

He thinks we'll be able to use the harness we got and piece it to the stuff that's good.

So, looking for a coil now.

    Thanks for the help!!

You might want to consider looking on ebay, the classifieds here, or post a wanted to buy ad in the Parts Wanted forum. While you are at it please list the model and year of your bike.

I used to have like ten sets but they are all sold. Drag bike leftovers are other peoples treasure.
I've seen sets go on Ebay for 9.99 plus shipping and I know someone here has some laying around.

Is there a way to check to see if the coil is bad?

alot of the ash stuff wipes off, it doesn't look melted on the outside, just blackish/browinsh.

          Thanks!!

Most likely it's fine. Hook it up and see if there is spark when you turn the engine over with a plug laying on the side of the engine.

I have a working one of an 801000G. 3ohm. Should be the same. You'll need to solder the connectors (as I cut them off to use with the Dyna Coils) but you can use the connector off your old coil I assume...

This coil has no wires in it (that's what I was doing, removing stock wires). On this side I was successful, the other side not so I bought a new set.
You'll need to push new wires into the holes (& a bit of silicon to seal).

              $10 plus shipping.

Maybe a good excuse to get some Dyna coils?

eBay for sure if you want some used OEM's. I see them from time to time when looking for other stuff.
