    General '79 GS750E Questions

I'm in the early stages of my build, so I'll post up all my questions here from here on to avoid cluttering the boards. This is my first bike, and I'm working with a mechanic. Bear with me.

First up: I'm looking at a aluminum swing arm off a '83 GS1100E (see below). Would this be a match for my '79 GS750E? I'm looking for a direct bolt on with same pivot width, rear wheel size and length.

    Thanks,

    Das

Im not sure if you're doing custom build, but somewhere around here I saw a link for parts interchangability between all the GS models. I'll see if I can find it again.

I wonder if its been updated to include the new 2004 GS model..

      Danjal,

I'm actually doing a cafe build. Sorry, I should have stated earlier. I posted this in the new members section, but that was awhile ago.

Anyhow, thanks for the tip. I'll take a look around too.

I found the thread and checked Alpha Sports as suggested, but the swing arm is not listed for either my bike or the 83 1150E.

Do I need a guru, or am I just not searching right?

The swinging arm spindle diameter is bigger on the 1100. You've got 2 options: Bore the holes on the frame to match or make up some collars for the arm. Everything else will fall in to place easily.

I picked up this left rearset on the cheap hoping to find it's right-side match. Does anyone happen to know the brand or what make/model this comes from?
