Los Angels GS part stores, need help

    Howdy,

I need the head and base gasket (1982 GS850G) for Monday and i will be in LA Friday night and Saturday. Are there any shops around L.A that stock the parts that you know of? Do you have one laying around that i can buy from you whole in L.A?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Hey Chris, see if you can get hold of Salty Monk (Dan), Bass Cliff or Square Dancer Lyn, one of them ought to be able to help you out.

If anyone is going to have those parts it would be Lynn. Regarding a posible shop that would have them, I'd try Marina Suzuki since they seem to be the only place that has parts for older bikes.

Yes, marine Suzuki on Marina Del Ray. I think you'd have more luck with express shipping from Bike Bandit though....

          Hi Chris,

Sorry, I don't have those gaskets and I'll bet none of the dealers in my area will have them in stock. BikeBandit is really quick to deliver. My last order from them was here in two days.

          Thank you for your indulgence,

          BassCliff

Well thanks guys, i called around in L.A and no luck. I'll Call Rob at Cycle Recycle and ask him for a whole set as the head gasket alone is just as much as the full set. It leaks maybe a drop a week but i hate anything that leaks and i know it's just gonna get worse. Chef1366 is helping me out to do the operation at his house and i'm busy moving the panniers a little back. I'm hoping to add another box somewhere back there, we'll see.

I need new tires and they discontinued the Pirelli Scorpions S/T. looking for dual sport tires in the same range but no luck yet.
