82 GS450 t transmission problem
I just got an 82 450 t. When shifting from 1st - 2nd it slips out of 2nd and goes into 3rd. Sometimes it stays in 2nd briefly before slipping out. Any ideas of what is wrong, and how hard would this be to fix? Other than this problem its a good bike...Thanks

How many miles are on the bike? Could be clutch out of adjustment, dogs in the tranny, or worn gears. -
2nd to 3rd? That's weird. It usually slips into neutral.
Maybe bent shifter forks or worn dogs.
Have you tried to adjust the clutch cable?1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

The bike has 30k miles, and the clutch cable is adjusted far out on both the lever and at the trans.Comment
