    GS1100 Stator Cover replacement

I have an '82 GS1100 that has a cracked stator cover (left side crankcase cover) - a pretty major oil leak. I'm looking for a replacement - the question is what else fits ? I'm pretty sure the cover from an 850 fits, but what about one from a 750, 650, etc ?

    Thanks for your assistance,
    Ken

850 cover is a no go. Check the part numbers between models here... http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm

I have one. It's not the prettiest but it'll seal the leak.
I'll let you have it very cheap.

1100E and 1100G use the same cover? (I'm too lazy to look up the P/n's).

How accurate will the part #'s be, for fit ?? The "83"'s were the first of the black engines, several other models may fit fine but if they were alum color, I think they would have a different part #. Just my opinion

It is a shaft drive, with the stepped seat.

Sorry - the motorcycle is a 82 GS1100 GLZ - shaft drive, stepped seat. It has 4 into 1 headers added by the previous owner, I have replaced the stator and RR with parts from electrosport. Everything else is pretty much original equipment. Overall in good condition.

What did you find out when you compared the part numbers?

The following is what I found - The 82GS1100GL part number is 11351-49002 , the GS1000S part number is 11351-49301, the GS850G part number is 11351-45001, the GS750E part number is 11351-45401, the GS650G part number is 11351-34201. So based on that they are all different and not interchangeable. Ken

Put that information into your signature line, like mine. That way you don't need to repost it every time you have a technical query, and all the old codgers here will stop bugging you about it.
