    Reassembly help

I'd kindly appreciate any tips on engine reassembly. Currently I am breaking down and reassembling a 2 valve 550 motor as practice for when I punch out my 79 GS1000 to 1100. Got the head and jugs off no problem.

But getting the pistons back into the cylinders when putting the cylinders back on from the top is is proving to be a problem.

    Help and wisdom please.

    Thanks in advance

do the center two first, block the pistons up with a 2x3. Use fingers , hose clamps, lg cable ties to compress the rings. It helps to have an extra pair of hands too...

It helps to have someone helping..... When bwringer and I put the head back on my 750, we simply squeezed the rings with our fingers.

It also helps if your helper has strong fingers........

Wait for rapidray to show up in this thread, or PM him. He'll make sure you don't forget any of the small details.

I believe suzuki recommends offsetting the piston ring gaps before installing the jugs.
