    Chain rides of rear sproket.?

My chain seems loose half way around the rear sproket on my gs450, and causes tight spots whan I turn wheel by hand, not sure if its wrong chain or worn sprocket. Thanks. Darren

Most likely a stretched (cheap) chain, go buy a new one and sprockets if they are worn. That can be dangerous, a broken chain wrapped around some part that should be turning can put a damper on your whole day.

Get a new chain and both sprockets cause they wear together. Its likely a chain that got replaced on worn sprockets causing the issue.

        Hi,
Or, just get a shaft drive bike!

        Just kidding!

I agree, sprockets and chains should be replaced as a set so that they can wear together. I'll have to do that when I get around to refurbishing my KLR. Be sure to check your alignment too.

        Thank you for your indulgence,

And he can get a small one, too. The 450GA not only has the "automatic" transmission, it has a shaft, too.

I agree, that is the only thing I don't like about the wife's 450 winter project is it is not a shaftie. (well except the fact you can't get the airbox off). terrylee
