    brakes

1980 gs450.i rebuilt the caliper, new piston and seals. trying to bleed and having no luck. i am getting fluid at the bleeder valve but brake lever still goes all the way to handle bars. been bleeding it untill my hand gets tired from pumping. am i doing something wrong?

put a long hose on the bleeder, open it, hold the lever to the bar & suck hard on the hose...

You can also try cracking open the banjo bolt at the Master cylinder when pulling the lever, might be some air in there. Careful you don't get fluid on your paint.

yeah.. bleeding these suckers can be a battle.. My trick, (and alot of other peoples as well) is the cheap $25 mitey Vac from autozone.. attach that puppy to the bleeder valve, have someone making sure your brake master stays topped off and SUCK the fluid thru the lines..it will pull any air out with it. And, like Dan says, DO NOT get that stuff on your paint or plastic...It is HIGHLY CORROSIVE, and will eat it RIGHT NOW..as me how i know

A little trick I learned in the past couple days fighting brake demons on the GK.....take the calipers off and push the piston all the way in. It will be a little difficult and brake fluid WILL push up through the master so put something over it or you will have fluid squirting all over the place. Don't ask me how I know........The brakes feel great now though.

There is a little hole in the MC under the reservoir that needs to be open so that fluid can return to the MC. Make sure this hole is open.

+1 on the mityvac or even a large syringe to pull or push fluid through the caliper up into the MC.
