How can I eliminate handlebar buzz 1978 GS1000

Very smooth running engine, yet a ton of annoying feedback through the grips at highway speed. Any suggestions for damping the vibration would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jack

Carb synching would be my first suggestion, if this doesnt help then look to adding weight to the handlebars, lead shot or sand works well. You could also look at front wheel balance.

Ride a GS 1150 for a while, when you get back on the GS 1000, you won't even notice a vibration

Ride at 120 mph for a while. The vibes at lower speeds seem less afterwards.

There are vibes at highway speeds, varies according to the bike. Try foam or gel grips, and make sure the carbs are synched. Some weights in the bars may also help. I used to have some oin when i did more distance riding (1000km trips in a day)

I have gotten use to it, but then I have had the bike 23 years!

The most effective thing I have found for reducing vibration is a really first rate carb synch. Neither my 750 nor 1150 have any noticable vibration. :-)
(Hint.....when you synch the carbs, be as anal retentive as you possibly can. :-) :-) :-) eheheh )

Bar ends work well to cancel out vibration. You can find those online at many motorcycle parts websites. I like Wildhair
