I have a 1 amp charger as well, purchased recently. the amp rating on chargers is usually ampheres/hour. If it has auto shut off or overload protection you can just leave it on there.

Correct cozine,
My battery tender stays on all winter long, I check the battery fluid about once a week or so just to make sure it is not dry. Works really great.

I was thinking that a battery is a large capacitor and therfore should be self regulating. Only boiling off the water can cause any dammage with such small amperage chargers. Is this so???
