Chain breaker needed?

Hello all,
I got my new chain and sprockets today and started to pull the parts. Well back wheel and sprocket was no biggy, but, now to the chain
Did the stock chain have NO master link?
And if I don't plan on reusing the old chain,can I just hacksaw the old chain?
I know I have to have the new master link going in the direction of travel so it will be a pretty easy job.

I used a die grinder(dremmel tool) and ground off the head of one of the pins then used a pr1ck punch to knock it out.

1) No, no master link; it's an endless chain.

2) Yes, but I would use a grinder, like Skip suggested...

i purchased a set of cutters from home depot they look like pliars but 3 feet long they cost about 20 dolla and also work well as a master padlock key 8) Mark

Another way of getting it off is to remove the swing arm. Probably not a bad idea when you already have the rear wheel off. The idea is to clean and grease the needle bearings in the swingarm pivot.
