    New tires update

A while back I posted about buying tires for my 78 gs 1000e

I know its been a while and some of you were interested which choices I went with.

I decided on Metzelers, ME 33 laser for the front, 100-90-19 $106
    ME 55A metronic rear 130-90-17 $128

Tires mounting and balanced $46 since I bought them there and
    brought in the wheels only.

The big question was since I had the aluminum wheels was to go tubes or not. After your suggestions that it wouldnt be a problem, I went tubeless.

The holdup was that it took the dealer a few tries to get the right small
diamater valve stems for the wheels. Apparently newer rims for
tubeless tires use a larger opening and a fatter valve stem.

Also I ordered a new chain , and front and rear sprockets.

I just picked everything up today and hopefully I can have it all back
    together tomorrow.

    thanks again Rich

Great choice in tires! :-) I have them on my 750 and just ordered a new set for my 1150. You're going to like them. :-) :-) :-)

That is really a good choice of tire.

I had the same on my 1100G, and found them very good in wet and dry, and pretty good on light snow. Not so good on ice.

I have ME33 on the GK now, and I am waiting for delivery of a new ME550 for the rear.

Should have been here on Friday, but the Fedex driver got lost or confused and went to some other town or city. FedEx phoned to say the driver was outside, but would not come up to the house until we brought in the dog.

Since we don't have a dog, I suspect he was at Earl's house.

Funny you say that. :-) UPS doesnt deliver to my house anymore since my guys turned over their truck and shook it until the driver fell out. They love those big screaming treats with the soft chewy centers. Ahhhh, a mobil security system without an off switch. :-)

Earl, that is one of your better quips!!

Maybe I should send your guys an ice cream truck, just for topping

I am off for short ride to Hamilton....promised my son and his wife a few Pakistani mangoes if I could get some. I did, and this is the end of the season for them.
