No Spark
My 1977 GS750 just stopped working. I drove it into the garage the other day and it was running OK. Now no matter what I have tried it won't start. I checked all of the usual stuff. I pulled a plug to try and check the spark and I couldn't see any. Fuses and wires all appear OK.
Any suggestions?Tags: None

was the plug grounded when you checked it? #1-4 and #2-3 fire together, check one of the pairs you didn't check,if you get nothing, check to make sure you have 12V to each point set and that the points are gapped correctly and not oily or burned

yes the plug was grounded. I've also checked the other cylinders without any luck. I'm not sure how to check the voltage at different points in the system. I can smell gas so it appears to be getting fuel. The plugs are new but they were pretty dirty. I cleaned them up and still nothing. Any other suggestions?

Might sound stupid but Kill switch?
To check the voltage take your multimeter turn the ignition on. Put the black lead from the multimeter on a grounding point on the frame or on the engine. Use the red lead to test the wires you want to test.
Make sure the ignition system is on or you won't get a reading.
