    Advice about Jetting

I helped my friend go out and buy a bike
its a Kawasaki ZZR 600 and he got a blinding deal on it
it had standing for a while and It was running a little rough
So I dismantled the carbs cleaned them etc
    Changed the oil etc

Any ho its running a standard air box and a aftermarket 4-1
I Sence somebody tried to rejet it for the pipe but my suspician is the jets are too large obviously I should of whipped out a plug, but Hey I wanted ride....When removing and cleaning the carbs I noticed it was running
135 mains, thinking back....I think these are a little large...
it revs kinda slow and its revs are slow to back off
the idle Jets ( if thats what you call them) were 35's
any you knowledgable people have any Idea?

or know a site like this one for KWAKS

Try finding a jet kit for the bike, it could solve the problem for a small amount of $. Otherwise, follow the instruction on this page: http://www.factorypro.com/tech/carbt...m_engines.html
The jet kit is easier, but the instrucitons will get you there. Just be ready to take the carbs off a lot.

      hmmmm

sounds like my suzuki gs500 it did that i found it to be a vacum leak in the head were the pipes fit in but make sure you check the numbers with a kawasaki dealer they will tell you if they are really far off they should know what you can go up to and so on etc but check for vacum leaks and check to see if the carbs are in sync if there are not syncernized you can have the problem to

        Jet sizes

        I can't help but try BikeBandit.com or BuyKawasaki.com
Seems that BikeBandit doesn't have the fiche for Kawasaki's I've worked on but Kawasaki's web site has fiche and parts breakdowns. Hanging before coming back to idle could be a tight throttle cable or like another said, a vacuum leak leaning the mix out. Could also be the synch too.
I'd look for these issues first before jets. Bob

main jets are only going to affect 7/8 to full throttle...so if its running bad anywhere else a pilot issue.
