Here I go....Foolish HI/LOW beam wouldn't HI/LOW anymore without a BFH so I said to myself,"Self, if you take this apart, clean, lube, and talk dirty to it all the while, it will work again" About 3 seconds into trying to get the thumbswitch to give up, it did Now it's 3 pieces of plastic and most likely parts. Anybody have one of these spare parts in their stash??
Them Japanese guys have little fingers to be able to get the springs, balls, and plastic pieces together without them going BOING!!!!!! Thanks, Bob

I did the same thing.

I did the same thing to my 82 850 GLZ. You might get lucky if one comes up on E-bay. I would pay up to $60.00 for it if I were you. I ended up getting a new one from the dealer for $100.00.

You need to make sure the plug is the same if you buy one off another bike.

If you get one from the dealer they may want more than 100.00 for it. Bargain them down. It may be hard to find, but it will sit on the shelf for ever if they dont sell it to you. I am extreemly happy with my new one. It works and looks better than ever.

You may want to tell everyone what bike you have. Opps - just saw it in fine print in the subject - sorry. I looked it up at BikeBandit.com and it is $104 there. If your dealer has it in stock, you may be able to bargain him down as was suggested.

I know a lot of dealers are using ebay to sell NOS items that have been on the shelves for years.

As Swanny suggested...check e-bay.

It does not matter much which bike model it came off, others can be made to work, but DO check to see if the choke mounting matches yours.

If the electrical connectors are a bit different, you can solder them onto your original fitting.

Be careful in getting units from later years. Yours will work in manual mode if your automatic canceller fails, but the newer units (86 and up) NEED to have an automatic system to activate/deactivate the signals.

I was going to bid on a nice one off of a GSXR1000 the other day but missed it. As Ron pointed out, the model doesn't matter as long as it has the functions you need. You can figure out the wiring.

I did the same thing...found one for ?[ I forgotten what I paid..not much] at Arkansas Wings motorcycle salvage yard in Little Rock [over the internet] You might try to find them...they're pretty reliable and affordable. 8)
