#3 Exhaust Pipe is very hot compared to others

This morning when I was warming up my bike, (1980 GS850) I noticed by touch that the 4 header pipes were giving off very different temperatures. Don't ask why I was touching my exhaust while the bike was running. All I know is that I recall reading in a forum that this was how another rider discovered a cylinder that wasn't firing.

After about 2/3 minutes of running at idle this is what I discovered:
#1: I could grab and hold on to, it was warm but not to hot
    #2: Was cold
    #3: Scorching hot (blister hot)
#4: Was about the same as #1

The bike seemed to idle and run fine. Upon my arrival to work which is about 6 miles all pipes seemed to just as hot as the next.

    Any comments?

You may want to check your valve adjustments, especially for being too tight

Don't forget to look at your plugs, just in case.

Check the wiring to the coil for cylinder 2 and 3 possibly a loose wire or the coil is about to die
