    Wiseco big bore kit?

Wiseco offers a big bore kit for the gs 1100. The displacement will be 1166cc. Does anyone know how much that is as far as boring. (10, 20 30 over)? Has anyone ever installed that on a gs 1100 or know anyone that has ever done it?Do you think it will increase power that a person will notice?

ITS A 3MM OVER BORE AND IT IS A NOTICABLE INCREASE IN POWER--YOU MAY FIND THAT WITH STOCK EXHAUST IT WILL NOT PERFORM WELL THOUGH-IT SHOULD ALSO CAUSE A BIT OF A LEAN CONDITION AND REQUIRE AN ADJUSTMENT ON THE MID RANGE NEEDLE AND A SLIGHT INCREASE IN MAIN JET SIZE--

      Hey Slowpoke

Slowpoke, what is the biggest Wiseco Big Bore kit you can install without getting the engine cases bored, or other machine work done on an 1100?

I found the Wiseco to be a high quality set up when I redid my GS1000 - the only drawback was the need for premium fuel due to the increased compression (the combustion chamber doesn't get 3 mm larger).

I have a friend who is a machinist/car/bike nut - I took him the head, he relieved the edges of the combustion chamber (to eliminate hot spots) and cc'ed the head. Worth the $45 for the hours work.

Mine worked fine without rejetting, however, you really will notice a big increase if you include these during/after rebuild:

          1. slotted cam sprockets and degree cams
          2. bigger carbs and a 4/1 pipe
