Heavy Duty Shocks for 1980 GS1100

OK, truthfully, I'm a full sized heifer, and even with the rear shocks set to their fullest, I bottom out in some turns. Also, 2up isn't even an option. I'm sure these stock shocks are worn, but figure that stock replacements aren't going to be strong enough. Has anyone found/experimented with heavier rated shocks, or some sort of progressive springs? If so, are they affordable...The household budget is tight, so that's an important question. Thanks for your help, Pastorpaul

I installed a set of Progressive shocks last year.
    I'm a "full bodied" person, 6feet 265lbs.
I got 170/210 springs for them.
No problems on the lowest setting. I usually run them on the 2/nd setting.
My wife rides about 1/2 the time with me. No problems.
A friend of mine owns a shop here in MA and gave me a really good deal.
I think they were $210 with springs.....not positive on the price, but they were cheaper than any others I could find.

Is that correct? I show the heavy spring for the PS shock as 105/150. That's what I was planning to buy this winter (210 lbs. in my riding gear).

        Al,
        "special order"
Don't get the "harley" shock, look for the performance shock.
I forget the specific model, mine are black, not chrome.

Says right on the spring 170/210
