front springs/rear shocks for '80 GS550e

can anybody suggest some good replacement springs and shocks for my GS550e.

i'm on a tight budget so money is an object.

Progressive is the way to go, but be prepared for sticker shock.
I hate to say it but, JC Whitney might be an alternative.

I was going to try swapping my GS650L's rear shocks/springs onto my GS550E. The L's looked progressive to me. But a friend desperately needed a rear suspension for his GS1000L, so I sold them to him. Never got to try the swap myself, but my friend absolutely loves them. Could be a cheap, easy swap if you can find someone parting out a GS650L.

Er, someone ELSE parting one out. :?

what rear shocks are compatible. how can i find out? here's a nice looking set from a '82 650. would these work?
