Then my shop can order the parts in time to get my bike ready for the OBT tour this sunday and I get my very own microfiche at the shop  . The OBT tour by the way is for bikes from 15 to whatever years old and most of them are Japanese including a couple of 550's and a 1100GK if they make it.

Need a Katana 1100 framenumber for ordering parts.
My speedo cable broke last week and it's missing the rubber attached to the front fender to guide it and keep it rubbing of the paint on it. Now strangely enough both my frame and engine number start with GS75X******* although the bike is confirmed by a specialist in old Japanese bikes as an 1100 frame and engine and an original Katana as apposed to a remodelled 1100E. Previous owner told me that the date of the first admission of the bike and the date for the type approval in Holland are the same, 05-05-1981 so that may have something to do with it :? :? :? . If anyone with a Kat1100 could PM me there framenumber that would be great especially a European one, don't know if that makes a differance though.

The rubber cable guide is a standard Suzuki GS(X) item. It is used on the GS550/750/850/1000 as well as the GSX750/1100 and Katana's.
The part numbers may be different, but they are all the same.
My guess is that a GSX750/1100 speedo cable might fit too, although I'm not sure.

Robin - I have an extra one that I'd be willing to send to you - but I don't think it would arrive in time for your ride. 8)

Apparently the cycle parts of the GSX750S1/S2 and the GSX1100S are identical so the same speedo cable should be used, I just replaced mine but dont have the part number to hand for you sorry

Thanks for the offer Mark but it would indeed be too late
Availability isn't the problem here just time and the correct part number for wich I need the frame number. I am a idiot for not correcting it sooner, when I bought the bike 2 months ago the rubber cable guide was missing so the cable was ziptied to the brakeline by the previous owner making a tight curve at that point, I just took the cable out and it's broken at that exact spot and it still wore away some paint on on the black part of my fender . Harry thanks for the info on the rubber cable guide and the different models it's used on. I'm not sure if the 750/1100E cable would fit because of the different dashboards.

Thanks for the info on framenumbers and the part number for the cable. I fitted a cable from a GS750/1000 that I had laying around today as a temperary measure, the last part of the outer cable has a kink in it (made by the factory) and I had to take the entire dashboard off to get the d*mn thing threaded in okay but the correct cable (and fiche  ) are on order. OBT RUN HERE I COME!!! BEWARE
