Mildew on seat cover
Here's an easy one. I got this seat for my GS on ebay and after cleaning it it looks like it does have some mildew on it. There's no holes or tears so i'm assuming the foam is still good. What can i use to clean it without damaging the vinyl? I'd use a harsh cleaner like tilex but i wanted to ask someone here first. Thanks much!Tags: None

If it is mildew, then a mild solution of clorox wiped on should get rid of it. The clorox shouldn't harm the plastic, just make sure you rinse it well.

Agreed, but I would use it full strength, leave it for only a couple of minutes, then rub, while wearing disposable vinyl gloves, and, finally, flush with clear tap water. To be effective on mildew the diluted/weaker solution may require direct contact between the solution and the seat for a much longer time, and that can awkward or difficult to achieve.
Short-time contact with a standard (5 to 6% ) bleach solution will not harm the vinyl.Bertrand Russell: 'Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education.'

Mr. Jiggles
Once you get the seat / bike out in the sun, the UV in the sun's rays will kill any mold that is on the surface of the vinyl. You washed it already and it still has mold on it? Are you sure that it's not just a stain left behind by the mold? Or are you referring to some mildew that is between the cover and the foam? If there is mold under the cover then neither treating with bleach nor sunlight is going to help. Mildew under the cover would also imply that there is moisture inside the foam.
