    #2 weak spark.

#2 it seems has weak spark. The problem I have been having is with the #2 header not getting hot. I have gone throught the carbs and they are perfect. I finnaly found that when I switch the #2 and #3 plug wires around the problem moves to the #3 cylinder. I have new GSX-r coils, New accel wires, and new NGK caps. I'm a little baffled though becouse the problem was the same before I put the new coils on. Any problems I should look for beyond the coils? I'm not sure what to check into beyond that . Any way to test the wires from the harness that plug into the coils?

Any ways. If the coil was bad would both the #2 and #3 get weak or go bad at the same time? Should I just put a new piece of wire in, and see what happens? I could also switch the caps around. Or I suppose I could even change the left coil and the right coil around to see what happens. This would involve switching the plug wires out as well as the - &+ leads at the back. Just looking for a good place to start. Thanks Chris.

I would put a voltage meter on the wire to see if you are getting anything through...any sort of crimping of the spark plug wire could have broken the wire inside. Start there...because obviously the quickets, easiest and most inexpensive to replace.

      Yea.

Yea I figure I replace the wire first. The wire is not a metal core. It is some sort of fiber wraped in a black coating. I think I'll swap the left coil and right coil out as well. If nothing changes it has to be the harness or ignition or something. If the problem moves with the coil Ah Ha.

Sounds like you have reg automotive type wires. Usually they are used with reg auto plug ends and not the NGK restor caps????? I don't know if that could be the problem. Try trimming the wire back and reconnecting the NGK caps

The other three are doing fine with the wires.

The other three cylinders are doing fine with the wires. I would like to know if these wires should be on a car only and not a bike. If any one knows for sure that I made a mistake with the wires feel free to chime in.

You should have solid-core wires, 5K caps, and non-resistor plugs. try that first, i don't think swapping coils will do much, especially since your problem moves to each cylinder you put your 'bad' wire on. i would focus on the wire and cap.

One out of three is bad hu?

One out of three is bad hu? I do have the 5K caps, but the plugs are BR8ES. What are the down sides to the wires I'm using + the resistor plugs?

You have RF suppression wires, Resistor caps and resistor plugs It could be too much resistance for the stock ign ??? Should have B8ES if you go by the book. Did the Accel wires come with any plug terminals and boots?? If it did I would try them instead of the NGK caps, and the correct B8ES plugs
