    82 GS1100E vs. 82 GS750E

    does anyone know have compatible the 1982 GS1100E would be with a 1982 GS750E? how much stufff could be interchangable from one bike to the other.

    If I've heard it right, the only diff is the bore width. Might be wrong though.

    I can tell ya that I would love to have either of those bikes.

      You can shoehorn the 1100 engine into the 750 frame. The swingarm is different, the body work from the 750 is the same as the body work on the '80 and '81 GS1100 and 750...the headlight is the only difference (I like the 750 headlight better). The internals of the engines have very little in common...different kind of crank, different oil system (strangely, the oil pump is the same), ect. I'm not sure how interchangable the electrical componets are...
