    80gs1000e Exhaust Header Clamp Question?

I just got a set of stock exhaust pipes for my 80gs1000e. I noticed that on the inner header on the right side (2nd from the right in the picture) where it bolts up to the block is missing the exhaust clamp. How is this possible? The other 3 pipes have the clamp ready to bolt down and I do not see how they could come off! I would have to cut them off with a torch? What should I do? Is there an aftermarket exhaust header clamp that comes in 2 overlaping pieces that I can substitute?

Bikebandit has the header clamp listed as part number 4 in the following diagram.

Also, what is part number 7...do I need those....and how many? Should I get new number 3s as well? Options/suggestions/insight please?!

      Pipe

You do need #3, they're the exhaust gaskets and they should be replaced every time the pipe comes off.

You're right: #4 is the clamp (get some universal ones, they're MUCH cheaper!); #3 is the exhaust gasket (you'll need 4 of them); #7 is a half moon shaped piece that goes around the pipe and is needed for the clamp to attach pipe #2 and #3 to the cylinder head. You will need 4 of them: 2 for pipe #2 and 2 for pipe #3.

The original #2 and #3 clamp can just be pulled of, because their inner diameter is much larger than the pipe diameter (that's why you need the half moon shaped parts).
I noticed in your picture that the one clamp that's left (#2), is mounted backwards, so someone has taken it off before.

Thanks for the info, what a relief. I thought I was screwed. Sharp eye on the photo, all I saw was that I was missing a part. Good thing is that current exhaust which is destroyed on the right side has all 4 original header clamps/hardware so I'll only need to get new gaskets. Replacement clamps are $$$! Stock ones should polish up nicely. Thanks again -D
