    GS1100GL(Z) starter in a GS1100E(Z)

Will this starter fit in my 1982 GS1100E(Z) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2449315314

I will stand to be corrected, but for 1982 bikes, I believe there is one starter for all GS1100 engines.
    A take-away:
IF YOU TAKE AWAY S FROM SIX YOU HAVE NINE

      Starter

When I look in Bikebandit the pictures for the GS1100G is like the one here on ebay and the one for the GS1100E is lacking the two external bolts that seem to hold the whole thing together.

Aside from the outside bolts the starter looks to mount the same way. You could check to see if the starters have the same part # for the o-rings as a start. I found that my 400 starter lacks an output shaft bearing but otherwise is the same as my 1100s starter.

If your starter has stopped working the best thing to do would probably be to check if the brushes need replacing.

        Good luck, Steve
