TAPPET DEPRESSOR TOOL
After going to my Suzuki dealer to purchase a tappet tool to remove the shims and set the valves, I was shocked at the $150.00 + price. After searching the internet I found one for about $40.00 with shipping at "www.pitposse.com" It is advertised as OEM replacement tool. So save your money towards the shims you will need.Tags: None

Mobetter
I made one by cutting a large washer in half.
Rotate the engine until the cam lobe fully depresses
the valve you are working on.
Slide the half washer in (the inside diameter is roughly the same
as the outside diameter of the camshaft) to where the inside
is resting on the camshaft and an the outside of the washer
is resting on the bucket but not the shim.
Rotate the engine and Presto the cam lobe lifts and the bucket
stays down. Just pick out the shim.
Total cost 45 cents. and the time it takes to hacksaw
the washer into two pieces.
Peace

I?ll looking for an apropiate washer next time I?ll check the valve clearence.
PMHallum, I think seriously that this method works (at least for Mobetter ).
The size may be: Inside Diameter-- 19MM (0.75Inch)
Wide-- Aprox. 3MM (0.125Inch)or a bit less.
I don?t think that could damage your camshaft.
Camshaft are made of hardened steel, while wahser usually are made of mild steel or iron.
Good luck.
Eliseo.
