Seals for the petcock/gas tank

I'm in need of some help, does anyone know if I need to buy OEM seals where the petcock attaches to the fuel tank or is there a product that I can make a seal with? Any help would be great.
I'm leaving work now so I'll check back in the morning.

Permatex. Take a small sheet of it, carve out the shape you need and the corresponding holes and bolt it inbetween the petcock and tank.

Or you could try some gasket sealant as long as it doesn't get in the tank and is gasoline resistant.

You can get a new seal from the dealer If it is leaking I would get a rebuild kit for the petcock--- do the job right it comes with all of the gaskets/seals you will need

If you have a leaky petcock, I'd go with the rebuild kit (you can probably find it on ebay).

However, I think you're just talking about the o-ring seal between the petcock and tank. You should be able to find it on www.bikebandit.com in their OEM section in the schematics. I've also heard that www.ronayers.com is cheaper (never tried myself), but you need the part numbers from bikebandit.

Thanks for all the ideas.
I'll get down in the basement this weekend and take care of the tank. Yes it is the seal between the tank and petcock I'm going to put in a new to me petcock it just didn't come with the seals.
