    IF you get it wrong

If you get it wrong, the hi/lo switch just causes the headlight to go brighter and dimmer , dimmer because it lights both filaments up in one of the positions. I usually get it wrong first go.........

Alright...enough already. I never realized how much I loved all you guys until I posted this question. The fact of the matter is, I've appreciated each and every answer and.....if anyone still has any interest in the origianal question.... (we did get off track a time or two), here's the deal. I found that the set-up is just as Clymer ( and some of you) suggested; I wired my new light as follows:
YELLOW goes to the left as you face the back of the light (That's high beam)

WHITE goes in the center (upper spade) and will be used for the low beam

BLACK/WHITE is the ground and goes on the right spade.

If you do this, you'll be right and we won't have to repeat this discussion. Thank you all very much for your help!!!!!!!!
