The previous owner laid the bike down and dented the tank along with punching a hole in it. He must have put a gallon of tank sealer in, because it is about a half inch thick.

Kreem tank sealer
HELP! Does anyone know how to get this stuff out of a tank?

I would check with some of the local radiator shops and find one that repairs gas tanks.. Have it done by a professional. Even if you do it your self, it is going to be a very messy job with caustic chemicals. and you still have to deal with the hole when you are done

Kreem
AS I recall, Kreem can be removed by the same stuff they use to prep the tank in the first place. I paid a bike shop $85 to etch and coat my tank with something that was red and smelly. I'm glad I did and would never consider using that Kreem &^$@#. :roll:1980 GS1100E....Number 15!

Thanks
Had a radiator shop boil out the Kreem. Glad I'm going to paint the tank as there isn't a bit of paint left on it.
