    Big Bore 450?

What is 'boring' a cylinder. Is that where you cut it so the diameter is wider, making more compression? and i believe you need a whole new piston and setup, is this correct? Is there anyway that i can bore out my 450? Or would that definetly be a stupid idea.

it would be very expesive, you would need to get custom pistons at about 145 a pop and you have to order 4. just get a bigger bike.

Don't know much about the 450 but I would find a good used
GS500 motor and do a transplant if you want more preformance

I was wondering what kind of riding you do that makes you wand a larger engine. My little 200cc job easily cruises at 60 and gives great gas mileage.

One other note on over boring a small engine. do the math. when I over bored my 1100e to the service limit, it was originally 1075cc. It went to 1166/68 cc. or not even 6 cubic inches.

What will you gain by going to the service limit on your engine?

Hey Tanner! Check out the sites about GS twins. Do a search and you will find a couple of good ones. They have lots of info on performance enhancements(read lots of cash!) for Suzuki twins. I have to agree the cheaper and easier way to more power is to go to a larger bike. I love my 450L, but it will never be a hot rod bike.

There are links? I wouldn't mind looking at them. Know what any of them are?
