    carb swap ?????

    I have a 78 GS1000 with original carbs - that are a constant problem.

Are there any suggestions on replacements to stock manifolds?

OK - I'm bumping my question back to the top.

Has NO ONE had any good results replacing their carbs ?
I know 31mm smoothbores used to be the way to go.
    Kinda hard to find now
    thank you.

If your carbs are a constant problem, you probably have a dirty fuel tank. These stock carbs have very few moving parts. The only problems they can really have is the circuits being plugged by crud. Replacing the carbs will simply give you the same problems with different carbs?

I have 79GS850 same slide type carbs. They are NO problem as long as they have clean fuel. If you are looking for better preformance then posibly change carbs To later BS style, or 29mm smoth bores if you can find a set. Clean your tank and put in a fuel filter and clean carbs again and you will probably fine your problem is solved
