yes 3 will get hot, takes awhile, just found a crack? in the rubber boot going from carb to motor, wonder if i can put GOOP on it till i find one, bike week is next week so hopefully the GOOP will last 2 or 3 weeks. Can this be my problem??

I would think an air leak would cause it to run leaner (hotter) but I'm guessing that if the crack was really bad it might allow a lot of the air/fuel mixture to escape altogether. Either way, a crack in the boot needs to be fixed. Try the goop and see how it holds. How does the plug look in that cylinder?

          going by this chart http://www.dansmc.com/spark_plugs/sp...s_catalog.html

i would say #22. i don't know the name of it, but the little curved piece you gap it with is close to white. they are dry, and i'm running NGK D7EA, i believe the hot plug. Pulled 4 too and they are identical to 3

How do you know it's not the pipes themselves? After a few more miles all 4 headers will likely turn...that's just the nature of single tube aftermarket pipes.

#3 is not getting as hot as the other 3, i put small amount of goop, and a piece of rubber over it secured by the round gasket clamp by the motor
