Is that like paint thinner? Or just "Laquer thinner"???
Sounds like it would be hard to get out afterwards...

since gas has laquer in it the laquer thinner thins it down and burns out with the gas. the guy said it runs and spits and spudders but after better power than he has ever had.

I've used cellulose thinners to clean the laquer and crystalline deposits out of float bowls on bikes that've stood a long while, but I've never found it necessary to clean the tank. A decent in-line filter will catch any crud from there. The problem with laquer in the float bowls is that the fresh fuel can soften it and it block your jets. Don't put your plastic floats in it though, just the bowls!
Tony.
