Changing 1150 ignition to Dyna III and mechanical advance?

Looks like the CDI went out on my 84 1150. Much as I'd like to get a Dyna 2000, just don't want to pay that kind of money, $400 is the best I've found . So I figure I'll go with the Dyna III (which is on sale now for $99), but it needs the addition a mechanical advance.
Does anyone know what year/make/model mechanical advance can be used for this? (If someone has one to sell please let me know ).
I also kind of remember seeing/hearing something about the ignition cover needing to be changed as well because of the added height from the advance unit. Is that right and what cover would be needed?
    Thanks.

You can get aqdvance unit from GS750/850/1000 up thru 81. Not sure about the cover.

A Dyna2000 rotor will fit an 84-86 1150 and the stock ignition cover will fit.
(already done that) A GS 1000 with mechanical advance uses the same ignition cover and a Dyna III system fits under it just fine. (been there done that too) I see no reason why a Dyna III rotor would not fit under the stock 1150 ignition cover.
