    Which "Vent-T" hose goes where? (carb to gas tank

    Ok...I'm trying to get the final verdict: You guys know on the stock GS1100 carbs...it has three "holes" to have a hose attached to. One is for the fuel to the gas tank (the middle one)....then there are two Vent-T's...one on the left and right of the fuel hole. (bare with me...I'm attempting to explain this the best way I can).

    QUESTION: How do I hook up the other two hoses to the gas tank? I'm assuming one would be attached to the petcock (to create the needed pressure)....but the other Vent-T has me confused. Is that supposed to be hooked up to somewhere?

    I've looked in the shop manual...and it only makes referrence to TWO hoses going from the carb to gas tank (main fuel line...and one Vent-T going to the petcock). But there is no mention of what to do about that additional Vent-T.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    The center on as you know is fuel the other two you discribe are vents and are routed down to the rear of the swingarm and are not hooked up to anything The Petcock has two hoses the fuel hose and a vacuum hose The vacuum hose connects to a nipple on the intake side of the #2 carb. There is also a fuel gauge in the tank with a metal cover with a nipple on it for a hose it is also routed to the rear of the swingarmand left open

      Really? Wow...and to think I was this "off" for so long. Tell me, if "someone" had hooked up one of those Vent-T's to the vaccum portion of the petcock...what would happen?

        Fuel would not flow correctly if the floatbowl vent lines were plugged or restricted in any way. Also, if you did hook one of them to the petcock, then you would have nowhere to hook up the vacuum line. The petcock would'nt open.
        And on the seventh day,after resting from all that he had done,God went for a ride on his GS!
        Upon seeing that it was good, he went out again on his ZX14! But just a little bit faster!

          Actually, I mispoke: I did have the vacuum line hooked up properly. It was those two vent-t's that I didn't know what to do with.

          Thank you for the info, though. Now I know! :-)
