    Sprocket Flip

I am due for a new chain, as the old one is unevenly stretched. I am wondering if it is alright to flip the sprockets in order to get the oppisite side of the teeth to wear on the new chain? The sprockets seem to be the same on either side, and one side of the tooth is going to be worn while the other side will stay pretty much new right? TIA!

I wanted to do the same thing a few years ago and my mechanic said it was a bad idea and that it would eat the new chain right up. I forgot what the reason was but it was something to the affect that the wear on the teeth is not one sided and that they actually get slightly bent. I believe that is what it was? I am not 100% on the reasoning but I do remember for sure him saying it was a bad idea and that I should just get new sprockets.

Sorry, won't work. Your new chain will be junk pronto. Sprockets are cheap check Dennis Kirk www.denniskirk.com.
