      Dont have excact answer, but:
      - My 2 GSs had it cast in the engine case near the oil fill cap. My GS850G has "2800ml" (a quart is 948ml) on the engine cases. But takes more like 3 1/2 qt, so maybe that stated amount doesnt include whats in the filter. But then again, I fill right to high mark and with it on the center stand.
      - I'd say go buy 4 Qts of motorcycle oil (not automotive) along with your filter. When refilling, Put in a couple quarts then start watching the site glass (I assume yours has site glass). Run it a bit, then recheck site glass.

Should be printed on the case right beside the dipstick, mine is, GS400 takes 2600ml.

I usually buy 4 litres. 3 or less for the oil change and 1 for what I burn before the next change. It's better to buy 1 litre containers since they are easier to pack than gallon jugs for highway trips.
