Dyna III
Will the Dyna III work (improve ignition/performance) on an 83 GS850G that already has an electronic ignition or is it not necessary?

I doubt you would notice any difference, an upgrade to dyna coils Yes
Most go to the Dyna when the original fails because of the cost

Re: Dyna III
No, the Dyna III offers no performance improvement over the stock electronic ignition. I would keep the stock electronic ignition if there is nothing wrong with it. Replacing stock coils with 3 ohm Accel or Dyna coils may offer some improvement in throttle response and performance.

Would it be correct to assume that if you had say an 82 GK and were having electronic ignition problems the dyna three would be a good replacement unit.

They both work very good Most change to the dyna because of cost. If you can get one on sale you can get it for as little as $100 the OEM is
$3-400.00

I checked bikebandit, the igniter unit alone is $437.00
They are still on sale at the Dyna web site $99.99
Get one now while they are still available I would suspect they
are going to discontinue them when the current supply is sold

Is there a difference between the dyna 3 and the dyna s. I know that the dyna s is self contained, but is there more performance or just more price due to the simplified design.
Thanks
