    uni verses emgo...

ive been lookin to buy some pod filters but i cant afford the k&n filters. so im forced to buy either uni or emgo filters. so what i wana know is which one will give me the better performance upgrade for the price. from what ive seen so far it seems as tho the emgo's are a bit cheeper. thanks for the responses guys,

I'd go with the UNI's, simply because you can wash and reuse them if you want. The EMGO's are disposable. Their is also this possiblity:
Manufacturer and distributor of high performance motorcycle parts and accessories for street and drag. Find fuel valves (petcocks), wheel chocks, air shifters, all electric shifter kits, wheelie bars and more here. Products for Yamaha, Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda available.

Super Pro filters are basically K&N's relabeled, I don't remember the exact price, but I think it's around $60 for a set of 4.

Thx Luke, that is one of the best pieces of info in a while!

Look at them bad boys! I know where I am getting my next filters. I need a set for my 34mmcv's that I am putting on my 1000.

Just bought some unipods for my 550. $34.99 for a two-pack from Dennis Kirk. So $70 for four. They look nice, are washable and are less than half the cost of K & N. Those knock-off K&Ns look good too but they don't make them for my bike.

I'm giving that boot the boot!

If you oil emgo's you get a soggy destroyed filter. Don't do it.

How well do the Uni's work? I see they are 1/2 off the price of K-N's. I'd love to save the cash if they work well enough.

Will let you know about the unis in a few weeks when I get the carbs back together. Have to order a bunch of o-rings...

I had UNI's before the K&N's I have now. They work fine, they don't flow as well as the K&N's but they're pretty good. They also won't last as long as the foam will eventually disintegrate. They're a good cheap alternative, I would probably go with a set of Super Pro's if I was doing it all again.
