Horn button?
My 82 750e is missing the horn button. The horn itself still works, just doens't have a cover on it so you can press it. Any idea of the best way to replace this? I'm being told that the dealer will have to order the entire headlight/horn switch assembly (although I have NOT gotten that info directly from the dealer yet). Some suggestions would be fantastic.Tags: None

I have a spare assembly off of my GS750L that I'm not using. I had to replace it is because the on\off switch for the headlight didn't work.
Seems I'm doing a lot of paypal sales of my unused parts this week.

Well, as far as the on/off switch goes...
All the left hand assemblies have an on\off ability. You have to modify the newer ones with a dremel tool to be able to access the OFF function.
The old ones (79-81) come with the ability to turn the headlight off. The newer ones you have to do the mod to.
The one that I would sell came with the ability to turn off built in and didn't require any modification at all. However, the function of the switch is spotty at best. I tried cleaning it with contact cleaner but couldn't figure out where the slight disconnect was at. I bought another assembly from the salvage yard off of a younger gs750 and modified it so that I could use the on/off function.
I believe the assembly would have to be taken apart to get at that little button cover thingie.
