    tires...1983 gs750ed

    what is the original size tires for this bike.
    what do you recommend and what do you feel is the best deal for a tire?
    what other sizes can i use ?

    Tires

    I think the sizes are 100/90-16 (front) and 120/90-17 (rear). If that's correct, you could safely put a 110/90-16 on the front but, beyond that, I would be reluctant to deviate from factory specs. Others may not agree with that.

    I really like the Dunlop GT-501's....they're my all time favorites and I've seen lots of other positive comments about them from a number of the other guys.

      Don't have a clue what your tire size is. As a general rule, we'll go one size wider than stock. If you go up one on the front, go up one on the back, this will keep the relation between front & rear the same.

        Chuckycheese is correct on the OE tire sizes. I currently run "one oversize" front and rear on my 1983 GS750ES: Metzeller ME33 Laser 110/90-16 on front, Metzeller ME550 130/90-17 on back. Some 130/90-17 tires can be a tight fit on the rear with respect to the rear brake torque arm (my former Metzeller ME55A Metronic rear cleared the arm by only a "hair").
