    which suspension do I use?

I have a couple of GS 1000s I am putting together from some parts bikes and by parting out the bits I don't need. One of my parts bikes is a G model 1980 vintage with the complete suspension including what appears to be anti-dive forks. My #1 bike will be a straight E model with an eye to all around riding, leaning toward the sporty end of the spectrum. #2 will attempt to be more touring oriented as it already has a Vetter II and bag racks. should I salvage these to one of the two runners or are they troublesome? and if so which bike would be better to put them on?
it also has the rear shocks with adjustable damping.

thanks for your help and this great resource.

If you are thinking about a touring bike GO with the shaft drive G model
The stock shocks have adj dampening hidden under the rubber boot Either one will be a terific bike. In my younger days I had a GS1000 E put 650 miles on her in one day. Have a 79GS 850 now. 300 miles last Sunday. I have put 10K miles on her in 2 years Never missed a beat. Both bikes are basicly the same except for the final drive

If your asking are the Vetter and bags troublesome? IMO Vetter fairings are great. Mine is in the neighbor hood of 15-20 Y.O. Still looks and performs as new. They were quite the hot set up for touring back in the day. Before the bike Co. got smart and offered OEM touring setups. I believe that was the begining of the end for Vetter. But Craig? Vetter. Made a mint, and went on to many other motorcycle ventures. Very high quality and well designed.

          Hmmnn,

A poet and didn't know it.

Seriously, don't know to much about the A-D forks. I don't have them. It seems I have seen more posts to lose the AD than keep them.
