Rubber seal don't seal no more...

i have a replacement used petcock i'm installing, currently the rubber seal between it and the tank is leaking....

is the something i could do to the seal to revamp its sealing properties..

or should i pull the current seal (that works) of the current petcock (that doesn't work) and use that instead

its $60 for a new petcock and $100 for a pingel....i would likt to avoid that if i could.....

    any suggestions ??

or use some of this stuff. I have a Pingel petcock that was leaking at the gasket between it and the tank and this stuff solved the problem.

Hylomar has gotten me through many a weekend until the "real" gasket or part arrives. I've used it before on petcocks with good success.

It's good stuff to have around with old bikes -- it's a very thick and sticky blue goop that never hardens and is impervious to gas, oil, etc.
