Got it, When I replaced the rings, the book told me to trim the scraper ring spacer to prevent overlap. So I did. This prevented the spacer from putting outward tension on the scraper rings causing the oil to blow right on by.

I got another set of rings and didn't trim the spacer this time. Now they fit nice and snug. I haven't started it up yet but I'm sure it will be fine.

$700.00 project. Extra $200.00 for another set of rings and top end gasket set because of the ring screwup.

I'm glad I did it all myself, learned alot about the GS engine.

Anybody need a GS engine rebuilt?
