    fuel leak from carburetor

I can not find a site like this for GTs, but perhaps here I may find some help. My 1974 GT185, recently acquired and in excellent cond., leaks, or should I say burps gasoline out of the fuel ejector/overflow hoses on the underside of the carbs. The bike has only 1665 miles on it and runs well. It is a 2 cylinder, 2-stroke engine. The petcock has no prime position, but it has a stop position. The leak persists no matter what position the petcock is in. Any clues as to why gas would steadily drip from these hoses.

sounds like your floats are stuck...your carbs may need a good cleaning.

And the petcock may be shot. STOP should prevent gas from flowing.

With the age of the petcock someone may have pulled the guts out of it to make it work at all. I may have one up in San Antonio from my old 305 that might work for you if yours is shot. I'll be up there this weeked. If it's still around I'll pick it up.
