    Tyco relay saves the day

I wired a relay into my bike last winter and during my first ride an over-voltage killed the relay before it could burn out my ignitor, etc. You can tell a Tyco relay is burned out by the lack of vroom vroom from the engine and the blue liquid that escapes out of the relay. :P

    Cheers, Steve

What's a Tyco relay, other than the sort you find in kids' toys?

It's just the brand of relay I was using. I had a relay to run the accessories after turning the key.

generic universal relay, commonly found in almost all cars on the road today.

sounds like he did the ignition bypass modification.
it is were a relay is used to control the electrical load, instead of it all going through the ignition switch. (high resistance!!)
you often will gain a good half volt, maybe more, maybe a bit less, doing the bypass mod.
